12,222. It's a number I'll never forget. That's how many of us came together to vote for this campaign in the primary election. As I reflect on our historic victory, I feel immensely grateful for this community. Knowing that my kids are growing up in a community where their dad, a son of immigrants, can win a primary election for State Representative is a big deal to me. When we started our campaign over a year ago, we had no idea how many friends we would make, how much we would learn about our great state, and how deeply thankful we would be to call this place home.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to each and every one of you who believed in me. We could not have done this without the unconditional support of my family, especially my wife Nidhi and our two boys. This win was possible because of the hard work of our volunteer team, every voter who proudly cast their ballot for us at the polls or by mail, and those who supported our campaign with your generous contributions. I am truly humbled.
Over the past year, our campaign has allowed me to make countless memories and meet incredible people across the communities I hope to represent. Together, we built a movement for a more just, equitable and sustainable future for our children and neighbors. Our election victory means so much more than receiving the most votes. It symbolizes a new day for Michigan.
To my opponent, Ethan Petzold, congratulations on all of your hard work throughout this campaign. I look forward to working with you to keep this seat blue!
But most of all—thank you to my family near and far for all of your sacrifice and hard work to make our campaign even possible. Serving as your state representative for these past six years has been an honor of a lifetime. I knew when we started our campaign back then, there would be big things in store for us. Thank you for being there every step of the way. Now, due to Michigan's term-limits, I can no longer seek re-election. The next person to represent us in the Michigan House could be decided in less than three weeks.
After careful consideration, I am supporting Ranjeev Puri to replace me and I ask you to join me. As a dad, Ranjeev knows the decisions our elected officials make today will have a direct impact not only on our lives but the lives of our children.
