Ranjeev Puri raises $43K in first quarter of fundraising in 2020 bid for State Representative
Democrat, Ranjeev Puri, 35, raised over $43,000 in his first fundraising filing with an unprecedented $42,400 cash on hand. Puri recently announced his 2020 bid for the open seat for State Representative in the 21st district.
Fueled completely by individual donors, not PACs or corporations, Puri is working to build on this momentum and make history as the first South Asian candidate and second-generation American to represent the 21st state house district.
“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support from people all across the district. Our grassroots campaign is focused on what matters most: making a difference for families right here in Canton, Belleville and Van Buren Township. This first filing is indicative of the excitement in our district and the momentum behind our campaign. We are the only campaign in this race to show we have the fundraising ability to win this seat in 2020.” said Puri.
Puri currently works as a business manager in the automotive industry with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, working collaboratively with leaders to ensure Michigan remains the centre of innovation and technology. Puri’s past experience spans from consulting to technology, and most notably working on the finance team of President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Ranjeev holds a Masters in Business Administration in Management and Strategy from The University of Chicago. Puri and his wife live in Canton in the Cherry Hill Village neighbourhood with their two sons and dog.
